PAT testing and inspections

Do you need to get any electrical equipment tested at your workplace? There's no specific schedule set out as to how often portable appliance tests should be run, but under the Electricity at Work regulations (1989), employers have a legal responsibility to take reasonable steps to ensure no danger results from use of electrical equipment.

The frequency of testing depends on the type of equipment, and we'll happily provide you with guidelines if you'd like them.

Without passing an initial inspection, no appliance can be passed as safe. There's an extensive list of checks that must be carried out before a PAT test can take place. We'll take care of all of those and then carry out any necessary PAT tests.

To find out more about our PAT tests and the visual checks that we perform beforehand, or to book a test, please give us a call today.

We're qualified to carry out PAT tests on:

  • Class 1
  • Class 2a
  • Class 2b
  • Class 3

What the tests include:

  • Earth continuity
  • Insulation resistance
  • Load testing
  • Earth leakage
